Up to this point if you were to ask me about the genre of this book I would have to say science fiction. Just based on the fact that it takes place in space and involves a bunch of 10 foot tall super soldiers whose only goal is to to expand there empire (much like the Romans) throughout the galaxies while fighting any and all races of orcs, aliens, and monsters that get in the way. It just strikes me as the nerdy science fiction type stuff that you'd find on the SciFi channel early in the morning.
If I had to make up a fake award for this book to win it would be the “ Hardest Book to Put Down” award. I think this because if you're like me you like anything military based and love a good ambush scene like they have in the beginning. Yeah the book has slowed down but I can't stop turning the pages in spite of that because I just want to see how it will end. Will the Greenskins succeed in taking over Rynn’s world? Will the Fist be able to stop them if they do come to their front door? Will the Crimson fist respond and go after the marines that got ambushed and if so will they make it in time? It's questions like this that make me never want to put this book down.
Up to this point in the book it's hard to tell what character will play the biggest role in the main story line but if I had to choose it would be Captain Cortez because up to this point he's had to the most “ FaceTime” if you will in the story. Also the parts that revolve around him seem to be the parts that involve more of the main plot and story than any other character. He isn't just touring the Base or talking in ceremonies he is the one that is ready and willing to fight and heard the distress call and got excited to hear of the enemy because of how hard they are to fight.
This book seems to be very action packed. It doesn't sound to have too much time in between the action where the reader could get bored with the book. I think it sounds like a very high ranking book.

ReplyDeletehey john how would you think the story would play out if captin cortez were to die earlier on or was taken out of a leadership postion? if so who do you think would be able to fill his shoes? I wonder what makes a good leader.
